In early 2017, we awarded a $120,000 over 3 years Challenge Grant to a joint effort of LifeNet International (LN) and Global Emergency Care Collaborative (GECC) to initiate or improve emergency care in Uganda. From July 17-19th, GECC’s ECPs (Emergency Care Practitioner) trained 5 LN team members in a variety of introductory ER topics at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital. The areas of focus were triage, antibiotics, shock, and fever. The next three training sessions have tentatively been scheduled for Oct 30 to Nov 1. Two new partnerships have been formed with Mityana Diocese and West Buganda Diocese to bring LN’s healthcare management system to the dioceses’ hospitals and clinics.
