Theresa Bailey completed her 1-year assignment as an AllPeopleBeHappy Fellow at the end of November 2017. She worked with Comunidad Connect on a project entitled “Addressing Sexual and Reproductive Health in Marginalized, Rural communities in Northern Nicaragua.” During the past year, she worked with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health (MINSA) representatives to train 19 adolescents and 2 teachers to become facilitators of sexual and reproductive health (SHR) topics with their peers and in their communities. The topics included Pregnancy in Adolescence, Methods of Contraception, STI/HIV, Violence, and Addictions. She also worked with the Lily Project to organize pap smear and cervical cancer campaigns in Los Robles and San Estaban.
