With an AllPeopleBeHappy Project Grant, Saha Global (SG) opened clean water businesses in six new villages (Sinsina, Tidrupe, Buiyili, Tibugu, Nagbuligu, and Jagbo Tindang) in Ghana, reaching 4,356 people. All six businesses were opened by SG’s new full-time Ghanaian staff. In November 2017, SG started transitioning program delivery and monitoring from volunteers to SG’s paid local team. In these six villages, the average usage rate is 83%, meaning that 83% of people living in these communities consistently buy water from the Saha business. Each of these six villages will be monitored by Saha for the next 10 years to ensure that people are drinking the clean water, the entrepreneurs know how to maintain equipment, and the water is being treated correctly.
