In the application for our Volunteer Service Award, we ask the applicant to tell us “What do you feel will lead to a world where All People Can Be Happy?” In this and four other blogs are excerpts from the applications of five of this year’s grant recipients which describe their thoughts.
2014 VSA Recipient Allison Pratt: “I feel that in order to live in a world where All People Can Be Happy society must attempt to understand the lives of people who are different than they are. In doing so, they are better enabled to interpret the sociological factors that have shaped different individuals lives and attempt to deconstruct the limitations placed upon those who are less privileged than they are. They must also learn to appreciate the differences amongst people because diversity brings knowledge to those who choose to accept it.”
