The following is an excerpt from an interim report from Little Sisters Fund in Nepal:
“AllPeopleBeHappy awarded a grant to support Little Sisters Fund’s Primary Educator Training program (PET) in the beginning of February 2015. This report covers the first six months of 2015. In that time period, the Little Sisters Fund (LSF) conducted 5 pre-training observations, 8 trainings involving 15 schools and 112 participants, and 9 follow-up visits.
Despite the destruction and disruption caused by the major earthquake on April 25, we are well on track to meet our goals for 2015, and demand for teacher training remains high. A major highlight from the last six months was that we held our first multi-school training. This was held in Parbat district in May. The training was held at our partner school, but teachers from eight other schools (not LSF partners) also attended. We are thrilled that this partner school wanted to share the training with other area schools, and that the teachers were motivated to attend.
Finally, we are just ramping up the classroom library aspect of the PET program. This component was added thanks to the support of the AllPeopleBeHappy foundation. Prior to this support, we recommended that teachers create classroom libraries; now, we are able to provide them with a small “starter kit” of books.”
