In August 2015, a $10,000 AllPeopleBeHappy Project Grant helped Hope Through Health (HTH) to launched a new Maternal and Child Health program in Togo. This program builds on and expands HTH’s decade of experience delivering comprehensive HIV/AIDS care. A recent update from HTH reported that it is now serving nearly 2,000 patients living with HIV and has extended health care to a population of 30,000 through our Maternal and Child Health program. In the first eight months of the Maternal and Child Health Program, 5,334 children out of an estimated area of 6,727 children were treated by Community Health Workers and at public clinics. To accomplish this, HTH employs 50 local staff members in 5 health centers in the northern Kara region of Togo.
