The AllPeopleBeHappy foundation has granted 8 Volunteer Service Awards this Spring. Of the 8 recipients, Mary McGlynn volunteered to spend 6 weeks as a Research Assistant with Global Emergency Care Collaborative (GECC), working in the Nyakibale Hospital in Uganda. She will track patient outcomes in order to help GECC log every patient seen in the Emergency Department. She will follow up with patients on the ward or via phone three days after they have been seen. She will help analyze data and carry out ongoing protocols. Mary is currently a medical student in the Global Medicine Program of the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago.
