We are happy to announce that Little Sisters Fund was awarded a 2017 Project Grant of $7,500 to continue their teachers training in primary schools as well as to expand to middle schools. The Foundation’s first grant to Little Sisters Fund was awarded in 2015, prior to the earthquake that struck Nepal that year. Somehow, they were able to continue the primary school teachers training while the community they served strived to recover and return to normalcy. In their own words, 2016 was a better year. “2016 was a great success and we met all of our stated objectives for the year. The earthquake and fuel crisis in 2015 forced us to keep the trainings close to the Kathmandu Valley area. In 2016, we made up for it and were constantly on the road, focusing our trainings on partner schools in the more remote areas. We visited 8 districts and carried out 16 Primary Educator Trainings, 6 Revive courses and 23 follow-ups. 360 teachers attended these trainings, indirectly impacting approximately 9,000 students throughout Nepal.”
