The AllPeopleBeHappy foundation awarded in 2020 and 2021 $10,000 Project Grants in sustainable agriculture to Clinica Verde. Clinica Verde’s teaches families biointensive gardening methods for planting home gardens that produce high yield nutritious vegetables and legumes to increase food security and support health. The program focuses on families in Boaco, Nicaragua and its surrounding rural communities, an area 55 miles northeast of the capital city of Managua. In 2020, Clinica Verde taught 50 families to use biointensive gardening methods to establish 50 3-beds home gardens. In 2021, Clinica Verde is training 90 families in 3 rural communities in agro ecological best practices (soil and water management: contour lines, living and dead barriers; production of legumes; crop rotation; promote use of organic pesticides) using 2 tutorial videos and agro ecological practices manual.
